The dream of a new Beatrice Animal Shelter will soon become a reality. Within weeks, the new facility will be ready to care for lost and homeless animals from the Gage County area and to serve as an adoption center for those seeking a new furry friend.

Donations large and small have made this project possible. Every gift makes a difference. And now we have another way that you can donate and be a part of this amazing project.

The Beatrice Humane Society is selling “Tribute Bricks” to honor or memorialize those animals and/or humans that have made a difference in your life. You might want to buy a brick for your deceased pets or maybe you would like to honor the pets in your life today. Perhaps you will put your children’s names on a brick…or one for each child or pet.

Tribute Bricks

The bricks, which come in two different sizes, will line the sidewalk into the front door of the shelter. The four-inch by eight-inch brick with three lines sells for 100 dollars, and the eight-inch by eight-inch brick with six lines sells for 250 dollars.

If you would like to purchase a brick to pay tribute to a beloved pet or special human, you can complete a Tribute Brick form and return it with your check to the Beatrice Humane Society. Forms are available at the shelter, or you can contact the shelter at 402-228-9100 to have a form mailed to your directly.

All proceeds from the sale of the bricks will go to animal care at the new Beatrice Animal Shelter. It’s amazing what can be achieved one brick at a time!
